Spotlight
This is Mike Rose, PLA, ASLA, Placemaking Practice Lead
Mike has spent more than 21 years designing the kinds of places people feel, remember, and want to come back to. As Sanbell’s Transportation Practice Lead for Active Transportation and Landscape Architecture, he brings a rare combination of technical rigor and design sensibility to every corridor, campus, and community he touches.
Before joining Sanbell, Mike served as Vice President at Alta Planning and Design, one of the country’s most respected active transportation and landscape architecture firms, leading urban streetscapes, regional greenways, Complete Streets corridors, and civic placemaking projects across the Western U.S. He worked alongside Sanbell’s Montana team on the Grant Street Corridor at Montana State University before he joined the firm, and that project captures exactly what he believes great transportation design should be – shaped by the community, reflective of the culture, and memorable.
Our Placemaking team knows the best infrastructure projects start with listening. Grant Street worked because nearly 400 students, faculty, and staff helped us understand what the space needed to be and the design followed from that.
