Sanbell (formerly Bellecci & Associates) provided entitlement, surveying, and civil engineering services for a new six-story, 115-suite hotel in South San Francisco.
The site is located less than five miles from San Francisco International Airport and within walking distance of the Genentech campus, BART, and Caltrain stations.
This project became the first modular construction hotel to open in the San Francisco Bay Area. Sanbell prepared civil improvement plans for drainage, utilities, grading, pavement, and parking lot design, including electric vehicle charging stations. Our team also designed a bioretention area to manage stormwater runoff.
Sanbell developed the Tentative Map, completed a topographic survey, and provided construction staking to support efficient project delivery. We worked closely with the architect and the City of South San Francisco to coordinate design, approvals, and construction.
Sustainability guided the project design. Solar panels supply nearly half of the hotel’s energy needs, while the bioretention pond filters stormwater and reduces environmental impacts. EV charging stations further support low-carbon travel options for guests.
